Susan showed me her wig and asked if there was any way to make it lighter — possibly turn it into a topper. I said yes and showed her a sample I had already made.
She said, “I’m in the right place! I’ve been looking for a specialist who can do that!”
After a thorough consultation, we decided to cut the bottom part of the wig and turn it into a wide topper that would cover the cowlick at the back of her hair.
Since the wig was fully hand-tied, it was more challenging to convert than a wefted wig. Still, I carefully cut and hemmed the perimeter and attached clips according to her hair pattern.
The hair loss from trimming the base was minimal, and it turned out to be a beautiful long human hair topper.
